Joining a Cultureword writing group or workshop gives you access to community, considered feedback and pathways to being published. But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s some recent feedback from our participants:
“Cultureword offers an important space for global majority writers to receive useful feedback on their work and learn from what others are writing. It’s a lovely, diverse group of people writing everything from poetry to memoir to fiction, and I’ve very much appreciated the feedback I’ve received on my own writing over the last 4 years. I always look forward to every workshop, and I’m sure that the Commonword community has played a significant role in my writing successes, from getting short stories published to winning an Arts Council writing grant, as well as being longlisted and shortlisted for various novel writing awards. It has also been really nice to attend in-person readings and networking opportunities organised by Commonword, including writing conferences and book launches. I feel like I’m well and truly part of an amazing, lively writing community here in Manchester.” – Dipika Mummery
“From the moment I stepped through its doors, Cultureword played a major role in supporting and developing my craft as a writer and also provided exciting opportunities for my work to be published.” -Dipali Das
“Since joining Identity last September my growth as a writer has accelerated. My determination and dedication has also improved. Sharing work, receiving and giving feedback and criticism has really strengthened my resilience. I’m grateful for the assistance and opportunities I have received since being involved with Cultureword.
It’s given me confidence in my ability as a writer whilst keeping me grounded in my practice.” -Lydia Williams
