Express yourself in verse and enter Cultureword’s new poetry competition Stand Up! 📢

Whether it’s a rhyming rant or celebratory couplets, share your impassioned poem for the chance to win a prize and your work in print! Entries are now open. The deadline to submit your piece is Tuesday 10th February 2026, 5pm.

This poetry competition is open to people who live, work, or have a connection to Oldham. One entry per person, and the poem must not exceed 40 lines. 

 There will be a first, second, third, and children’s prize. Winners will be announced at Oldham Writing Festival on 21st February 2026.
