An exciting new audio anthology dedicated to exploring the powerful connections between cycling and eco-politics.
Saddle Stories is Cultureword’s new audio anthology of short stories, poems, and soundscapes all about cycling and eco-politics.
We’re looking for original creative literature that highlights the significance that cycling has for people across cultures and societies.
You could explore:
*The relationship you have with cycling- be they childhood memories, frustrations on your daily commute, bucolic bike escapades, inner city bike thieves. Or perhaps you don’t cycle and want to write about why not.
*Pieces exploring broader ideas that cycling touches upon – such as personal freedom, access to affordable public transport, the environment and more.
Our aim is to recover and reveal the vital relationship between the bicycle, social justice, and a green vision of society.
Audio submissions are now open for:
- Short stories (fiction or non-fiction)
- Poems/spoken word
- Soundscapes (original audio compositions)
Maximum submission length: 3 minutes. Submissions should be made as a .mp3 file and sent to ella@cultureword.org.uk (this can be done as an attachment or via a WeTransfer link)
Submissions deadline: Friday 5th September, 5pm
This is a unique opportunity to share your work, contribute to a meaningful project and connect with a community passionate about two wheels and a better world.
